Microsoft Edge for Business Is Now Available in Preview

Microsoft Edge for Business is a new browser designed for businesses. It offers a number of security and productivity features that are not available in the consumer version.

Microsoft has announced that Edge for Business is now available to test out. The new browser is designed for businesses and offers a number of features that are not available in the consumer version of Edge. Microsoft initially announced the new version of its web browser back at Build 2023 in May.

This is a mode that allows companies and organizations to customize and manage their browser settings according to their needs and preferences. Edge for Business is designed to offer the best, fast, and secure browsing experience for business users, with multi-platform support and more than 80 languages available.

Microsoft Edge for Business aims to address the needs of both end users and IT Pros as the browser that automatically separates work and personal browsing into dedicated browser windows with their own favorites, separate caches and locations. This separation ensures that work related content doesn't get intermingled with personal browsing, preventing cognitive overload or end users from accidentally sharing sensitive information with unintended audiences.

The main benefits of Microsoft Edge for Business

  • Security: Microsoft Edge for Business provides enterprise-grade security and compliance features, such as Microsoft Defender SmartScreen, Application Guard and Password Monitor. It also integrates with and Azure Active Directory to enable single sign-on and conditional access policies.
  • Performance: Microsoft Edge for Business delivers fast and responsive web browsing, thanks to its optimized engine and features like Sleeping Tabs, Startup Boost and Collections. It also supports Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), which allow users to install web apps on their devices and access them offline.
  • Productivity: Microsoft Edge for Business enhances user productivity with tools like Microsoft Search in Bing, which allows users to find information across their organization and the web. It also supports Microsoft 365 apps like , Teams and , as well as extensions from the Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store and the Chrome Web Store.

Edge for Business is available for , Windows 8.1, Windows 7, macOS, iOS and  devices. Users can choose from four different channels or versions: Stable, Beta, Dev and Canary. Each channel has a different update frequency and level of stability.
