Microsoft has sent out its latest preview for the Microsoft Launcher. Users on the beta version of the launcher service for Android can now upgrade the app to version 5.4. While new features are not the purpose of this release, Microsoft has made some design tweaks to its launcher.
For example, Microsoft Launcher has received improvements to the status bar to match the theme of the Android device.
In terms of feature changes, Microsoft has added a new Cricket widget. This is for fans of the sport in the UK, Australia, India, and Pakistan to follow information from teams and matches directly from the launcher.
Finally, Microsoft Launcher now supports the Android Work Profile. Users can view Personal and Work apps separately from the launcher.
Here is the full changelog for v5.4 preview:
- Try out our new Cricket widget to keep track of your favorite teams in the Cricket World Cup! (available in GB, PK, AU and IN)
- Improvements to status bar and system navigation to match theme
- Android Work Profile: customers can view Personal and Work apps separately in the App Drawer.
- Bug fixes and performance improvements
As this is a better release, you won’t be able to download it if you are on the full launcher app. Either way, we guess these changes will pass through preview quickly and come to end users soon. If you want to join the beta experience, you can do so here.
Also, if you are yet to try out the Microsoft Launcher, we highly recommend it. Available from the Play Store here, the app is very popular amongst Android users. In fact, it is arguably the best launcher you can get for Google’s mobile platform.
Microsoft shows the Launcher a lot of attention with new features and regular updates.
