Microsoft Releases Triple Firmware Update for Surface Book, Studio, and Pro 4

Firmware updates to the Surface Book, Pro 4, and Studio bring vital security update, speech recognition improvements, and more. The updates are the most significant for some time.

Firmware updates may not be the most exciting thing in the world, but they can deliver essential security and driver updates. This time, has rolled out three at the same. Users of the Surface Book, Surface Studio, and Surface Pro 4 will all see improvements.

For , the main focus is security. Updates to the management engine, UEFI firmware, and dTMP firmware fix a ‘potential security vulnerability'. A final update to the management engine interface improves recovery for Connected Standby.

This time, there are some interesting improvements. Notably, users should experience better video performance, better dGPU performance, and more accurate speech recognition. It's not clear how significant these increases are, but they'll be appreciated all the same.
