Microsoft has introduceda new experimental Narrator feature directly aimed at enhancing user experience in the Excel Windows app. Catered to users with visual impairments, the recent update optimizes narrator utterances based on unique scenarios.
Earlier, the Narrator pronounced, “A1, selected, editable, column 2 row 2, item, test, cell” when users navigated to cell A1 containing the data called test. Post the update, it has been abbreviated to “test, A1”. This transformation is likely to facilitate quicker information search and an overall better experience for visually impaired users.
New Narrator to Make Excel Usage More Efficient
The enhanced Narrator feature in the Excel Windows app intends to expedite the workbook skimming process for easy access to requisite data.
The innovative changes were incorporated into the latest Excel for Windows update that was released in September. Users can now activate the Narrator in Excel through the keyboard shortcut – Ctrl + Windows + Enter.
