Microsoft's highly anticipated Xbox Game Pass Core is launching today, marking a significant evolution from its predecessor, Xbox Live Gold. The revamped subscription service will debut with an impressive roster of 36 games (full list below), surpassing the initial promise of over 25 titles. Among the standout games are “Fallout 4”, “Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice”, and “Vampire Survivors”.
Xbox Game Pass allows users to download and play video games for Xbox video game consoles or Microsoft Windows PCs from a rotating library. The games remain accessible as long as the user has an active subscription. With Microsoft Xbox Game Pass Core there are now four tiers of Xbox Game Pass available:
Transitioning from Xbox Live Gold to Xbox Game Pass Core
Existing Xbox Live Gold members are in for a seamless transition. They will be automatically migrated to the new Game Pass Core subscription without any additional charges. The subscription fee remains consistent at $9.99 per month or an annual rate of $59.99. This move also signifies the end of the “Games with Gold” feature, replaced by the 36 games bundled with the Core subscription. Microsoft has indicated plans to refresh this game list two to three times annually, ensuring that subscribers always have fresh content to explore.
Diverse Gaming Experiences Await
Xbox Game Pass Core promises a diverse gaming experience. From iconic multiplayer games to captivating single-player narratives and influential indie titles, there's something for every gamer. Notable mentions include the multiplayer experience of “Fallout 76”, the adventurous “Grounded”, and the immersive “Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice”. Additionally, the service boasts titles from Microsoft's first-party developers, Bethesda, and a selection of third-party games. Subscribers can also look forward to online multiplayer access, exclusive deals, discounts, and the “Free Play Days” promotion.
