Microsoft Teams Premium Becomes Generally Available

Microsoft Teams Premium is now moving into general availability and is adding advanced new webinar features.

-

Back in December, Teams Premium finally came to preview after first being announced at Ignite 2022 the previous October. Microsoft is now accelerating the availability of Teams Premium. According to the company, the SKU of its Teams collaboration/communication platform is now generally available.

Alongside the move to general availability, Preview is also gaining new advanced webinar features. In a blog post, Microsoft discusses its “dynamic and richer” webinar experience in Teams Premium.

Users using Webinars in Teams or in can now add event details, co-organizers, branding, and biographies for presenters. Furthermore, it is now possible to view attendance numbers and manage registrations of up to 1,000 participants.

During the setting up of a webinar, users can create a custom registration process with start and end times, waitlists, and approvals. Admins can also create automated reminder emails, although this feature will not go live until March 2023.

Microsoft also details how Teams Premium can help during the webinar:

“On the day of the webinar, presenters are able to join together with one another and the host in the virtual green room to ensure preparation is seamless. With the virtual green room, presenters have a separate, dedicated space separate from attendees where they can connect and chat real-time, stage content, do a quick briefing, and test run without disturbing attendees. While attendees join and wait for the event to start, they're greeted with a welcome screen to inform them the event will start shortly and can engage with the presenters and one another through chat and Q&A.”

Microsoft Teams Premium

Microsoft Teams Premium is a new version of the platform that Microsoft says will provide AI-driven performance that acts like a virtual assistant during a meeting. This is known as Intelligent Recap and it will generate tasks, create new meeting chapters, and take personalized highlights from recordings.

Users can also access live translations for captions for over 40 languages. Furthermore, Teams Premium adds the following meetings tools:

  • “New meeting guides that automatically set up the right meeting options.
  • Upleveled safeguards for confidential information with advanced meeting protection, including watermarking and sensitivity labels.
  • Friction-free Virtual Appointments for personalized business-to-consumer engagements.
  • The ability to host high-quality webinars using advanced functionality to drive deeper engagement and generate new leads.”

Tip of the day: For the most part, Windows apps are stable, but they can still be still thrown out of whack by updates or configuration issues. Many boot their PC to find their isn't working or their Windows apps aren't opening. Luckily and have an automatic repair feature for apps that can resolve such issues.
