Facebook Reels Getting Six New Features

Facebook Reels is getting six new tools, including the “Add Yours” stickers from Instagram and Facebook Stars.

-

Meta says it is bringing six new features to . Specifically, the new tools will land in the Facebook Reels. In testing, each of the new features proved to be popular, so the company is making them widely available.

First up is “Add Yours” stickers on Facebook Reels, giving those reels prompts to users to post their own stories. For example, “Add your vacation videos”. It is worth noting this feature has been available in Meta's platform since November 2021.

Due to its popularity on Insta, the company is migrating it to Facebook.

Elsewhere, the creator studio is making its debut as a tool to give users data information and analytics on videos. Facebook points out that creators on the Reels will be able to get a deeper understanding of their audience and how to connect with them.

More Features

Furthermore, Facebook Stars is now also available on Facebook Reels. Viewers can purchase Stars during a live video or on-demand video. Essentially, it is a way for creators to monetize their content, although I am not entirely sure what the benefit is for viewers.

Another new tool is the ability to remix the reels you create, allowing users to add videos that appear together in a collection.

Lastly, Reels are not going cross-platform. Users can now post their Facebook Reels content on Facebook and Instagram at the same time. Viewers can create custom automatic compilations of previous stories/memories through the auto-create reels features.
