Microsoft products cover a wide range of niches. Cloud, mobile, PC, enterprise, hardware, and more, the company has its hand in a lot of things. Microsoft also likes to turn its attention to literary endeavors every now and then. The company has announced a new e-book called “A Cloud for Global Good,” which is available for download right now.
A Cloud for Global Good stems from Microsoft's general shift to being a cloud-first company. More specifically, the e-book focuses on providing a roadmap for organizations and developers to make cloud services more trusted.
“Cloud computing has the potential to solve some of our world's most challenging issues, but, as with all technological advancements, it raises important questions for society,” says Brad Smith, Microsoft president. “We must work together to build a cloud for global good. Our hope is that the ideas shared in this book will help move technology forward while ensuring no one is left behind.”
The book presents 78 public policy recommendations split into 15 categories. Microsoft has laid out the policies to help make cloud technologies more responsible, trusted, and inclusive.
Policies and Suggestions
Microsoft has split the book into several topics. Among the categories are next-generation skills, enhancing security and privacy in the digital age, environmental sustainability, keeping communities safe, and securing a bright future for all our children.
Among the specific policies in the book are Modern Cybercrime prevention and secure and reliable cloud. Other roadmap suggestions include balancing human rights and public safety, AI, and Environmental sustainability.
