Instagram Debuts Post-Scheduler for Creators

Instagram is making a post-scheduling feature for creators, while also debuting Achievements for creators of Reels.

At the end of last month, I reported on an interesting new feature that was coming to . That tool was a post-scheduling facility that the Meta owner social network is now officially launching the feature. Furthermore, the app is also adding a new Achievements service.

With post-scheduling, users creating a new post or reel in Instagram will come with the ability to schedule posts through Advanced Settings. Here there will be an option “Schedule this post” where users can set a date and time for when the post will go live. This schedule can be edited later if necessary.

Alongside the scheduling feature, Instagram is launching Achievements. These seem to be a way to get users to engage with Reels more. Users can unlock achievements by doing certain actions. For example, collaborating with other creators or adding interactive elements to a Reel.

Other achievement goals include using trending visual and sound effects or being active by creating at least a Reel a week. When an achievement is unlocked the user receives a notification.

Meta Job Cuts

Instagram owner, Meta is expected to release thousands of employees in a mass layoff this week. While it is unclear how many – if any – will come from Instagram, reports point to job cuts across the Meta empire.

Meta is seeing its profits fall and its share price tumble. While the company is snapping up engineers from rivals to drive its metaverse aspirations, the realization of the metaverse is still not quite there.
