2022 has been an exciting year for gamers, as many famous titles made their way into the world, including Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, CrossfireX, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt. Still, the coming year could very well be epic.

With a plethora of video games anticipated to launch in 2023 – some of them delayed from 2022 – the following year promises to be memorable. Fans have plenty of reasons to get excited, as a long list of titles is forecast for 2023, not to mention a wide variety. Everything from classic games in the form of remakes and space epics to alluring journeys and sequels is going to entertain players from around the globe. Developers have also leveraged the technological potential and created games that can be played on today's most advanced consoles – Xbox Series X and PS5.

Let's see what 2023 is cooking in the oven. Here's our list – enjoy it!

Starfield

Starfield is Bethesda's next promising project – a whoop-de-doo game that could transform into an obsession. It's an open-world game, like most of Bethesda's games so far, and serves as their first original IP (Intellectual Property) in more than 25 years. What's so exciting about it?

The fact that it transcends the well-known fantasy and post-apocalyptic worlds commonly seen in The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Indeed, Starfield is based on many of Bethesda's games' systems, but what makes it truly authentic is the space exploration and first-person shooter elements. The game will take players from humble environments across the planets and stars. Starfield is a sort of No Man's Sky-esque role-playing game (RPG) wherein individuals adventure into the cosmos, collecting crucial resources along the way.

Starfield's vision of humanity is way more optimistic than the Fallout franchise's nuclear fire, which could be why many players worldwide eagerly wait for its release in the first half of 2023. Xbox Game Pass users will be thrilled to discover that Starfield is expected to launch on day one, as it's a first-party game.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda is Nintendo's most successful project, and for a good reason. Players will be taken to majestic pastoral realms, being given a chance to explore islands in the sky, a unique feature not met in Skyward Sword, for example. Our very first glimpse of this sequel makes us realize its true potential.

The sky-faring gameplay The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will follow Link returning to the land of Hyrule, which will be far more imposing than expected. With new puzzles to decipher and breathtakingly beautiful landscapes, The Legend of Zelda is going to be a luring console game suitable for everyone.

Although the game's title is still uncertain, this doesn't stop us from assuming that it'll be an all-time launch. Developers and video game testers work assiduously to make the game error-free and meet the audience's expectations. So, if you've ever taken these people's jobs for granted, reconsider it. Video game testers, for example, spend a lot of time ensuring a particular game is free from any bugs and technical faults, so no, it's not only about fun and games.

Based on their level, a game tester's life can actually be extremely stressful. Some of these people can also develop some sort of stress disorder if there aren't proper work conditions in place. https://www.accidentclaims.co.uk/ recommends seeking compensation for any work-related injury or condition, including stress. So, fortunately, video game testers can be eligible for compensation if the unexpected arises.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Star Wars fandom – this is for you. This video game conveys one of the series' best stories, so if you've enjoyed Jedi Cal Kestis' journeys so far, it's impossible not to sympathize with the character in this version, too. Survivor is the much-more predicted follow-up from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which has seen much success lately. And, to the joy of the public, Survivor is only a couple of months away.

The action will, thus, follow the young Kestis' adventures five years after the events in Fallen Order and his attempt to survive a hostile galaxy run by Order 66 meant to destroy all Jedi warriors.

An early teaser of the game reveals plenty of intrigue and mysterious characters, so there's no doubt that you'll see – and experience – much more in this version.

Park Beyond

Park Beyond is a delayed game from the previous year, so fans are probably breathlessly waiting for it. The game is expected to be full of surprises and give players promising features, including physics-defying elements that let them yield to their wish to send a carousel flying into the sky. As you may have already fathomed, you'll build and manage a theme park. The game is an enticing appeal to your creativity, as it allows you to set up the theme park of your dreams by designing unique features and improvements to traditional theme park rides.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Superhero game enthusiasts will find Marvel's Spider-Man 2 alluring. This sequel could be one of 2023's biggest launches, as it stars Miles Morales and Peter Parker as versions of Spider-Man, as well as Venom and the Hunter, some beloved characters worldwide. The Lizard is also anticipated to appear as we consider Miles Morales' ending.

Although there isn't much information about this game, it's expected to be just as exciting – if not more – as the original adventure. The game's visuals are also predicted to be unmatched in the present day, which is pretty clear from the teaser. After all, we can't expect something else from Insomniac Games, as their projects have always been superior and spectacular.

Other promising titles that shouldn't be missed:

  • Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
  • Dragon Age: Dreadwolf
  • STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl
  • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
  • Alan Wake 2
  • Homeworld 3

You still haven't chosen your favorite? No problem – you can try them all!
