Microsoft Insiders chief, Gabriel Aul used his Twitter handle to announce a configuration update released for Windows 10 Mobile Insiders.
Aul says that the configuration update is to prepare the supported Windows 10 Mobile devices for future updates, and will bring no changes or new features to the handsets.
Microsoft Lumia 950 / 950 XL and Lumia 550 users on Fast ring will be able to download the update, but should not expect any “noticeable changes immediately after installing this Configuration Update”
The tweets received a fair amount of response from Windows fans, with several Windows 10 Mobile users asking about the already overdue update. Windows 10 Mobile update was expected to be launched side by side the desktop update, but the wait seems to continue for now.
2/ This update prepares devices to receive the next cumulative updates, as well as improvements to the client-side update experience.
