Anthropic has rolled out Claude Enterprise, a new subscription tailored for businesses that require robust administrative controls and superior security measures. This introduction positions Claude Enterprise as a direct competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT Enterprise.
Sophisticated Features and Enhancements
Anthropic says Claude Enterprise allows companies to integrate their proprietary knowledge into Anthropic's AI chatbot, enabling the system to analyze data, respond to questions, generate graphics, create web pages, and function as a specialized AI assistant. Scott White, the product lead at Anthropic, told TechCrunch the company's responsiveness to customer demands despite operating with a smaller team than OpenAI.
Earlier this year in May, Anthropic debuted the Claude Team plan designed for small business collaboration, mirroring ChatGPT's team plan. Anthropic followed with the release of Claude mobile apps for iOS and Android. Now, the enterprise plan is set to compete directly with ChatGPT Enterprise, which is already popular among Fortune 500 companies.
Distinctive Features
Claude Enterprise boasts several unique features. It supports a context window of 500,000 tokens, making it possible to handle massive datasets in a single prompt. The capacity is significantly larger compared to the context windows provided by both ChatGPT Enterprise and Claude's Team plan.
The enterprise offering also introduces Projects and Artifacts, collaborative workspaces where multiple users can upload and edit content. These features are especially useful for businesses managing extensive projects with various data sources and team members.
Furthermore, Claude Enterprise integrates with GitHub, enabling engineering teams to synchronize their repositories with the AI. The integration aids in various coding tasks, including onboarding new team members, developing features, and debugging.
Security and Compliance
In terms of security, Anthropic, like OpenAI, ensures that it does not use customer data from Claude Enterprise for training its models, addressing privacy concerns about proprietary data. The enterprise plan also includes the ability for businesses to designate a primary owner for their workspace, who can manage access levels and monitor activities for security and compliance purposes.
Although the cost for Claude Enterprise has not been publicly disclosed, White mentioned it is more expensive than the Team plan which costs $30 per person monthly. The increased price reflects the advanced features and higher usage limits available to enterprise customers.
Claude Enterprise has been in private beta testing with early adopters such as GitLab, Midjourney, IG Group, and Menlo Ventures. Anthropic now aims to achieve broad adoption in a competitive AI landscape.
