has rolled out Windows 11 Build 22635.4076 under KB5041873 for Beta Channel users in its Windows Insider Program. The new version introduces a new Studio Effects icon in the system tray and includes various fixes for known bugs.

The Studio Effects feature, initially available from build 22635.3930, is temporarily disabled in this release. It will be reintroduced in a future update once the issues affecting it have been resolved.

Studio Effects is an indicator positioned next to the Quick Settings button, aiming to provide a seamless way for users to access a variety of video call enhancements. Though currently inactive beyond displaying a tooltip that states “Enhance your video experience using Studio Effects,” its implementation hints at a straightforward approach to enhancing video calls with AI-driven effects.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

The latest build brings a series of fixes aimed at enhancing user experience. It addresses a problem where keyboard focus could be lost when selecting tabs in File Explorer. Additionally, Voice Access now functions correctly in languages other than English. Issues with the emoji panel, such as it closing unexpectedly when navigating through kaomoji and symbols sections, have also been resolved.

An issue in the Registry Editor, where pasting HEX values resulted in incorrect entries, has been fixed. Moreover, this update solves problems that caused systems to become unresponsive when large amounts of data were transferred over Wi-Fi on devices with certain network cards.

Security and Policy Updates

The update includes an addition to the Windows Kernel Vulnerable Driver Blocklist, addressing drivers susceptible to BYOVD attacks. It also fixes Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC) issues, including application crashes and memory leaks that could eventually deplete system resources.

The build resolves Group Policy Preferences issues related to Item Level Targeting and Local Users and Groups, particularly in multi-forest deployments with one-way trust. Autopilot provisioning issues for Surface Laptop SE devices have also been addressed.

Furthermore, the update tackles issues such as high CPU usage and packet loss due to TCP/IP, EFI system partition-related backup failures, and problems that stopped Agent APIs from functioning properly in PowerShell and VBScript.
