Samsung reportedly will bring its Galaxy AI Live Translation feature to WhatsApp, enabling real-time translation. Initially introduced with the Galaxy S24 series, the feature allows for the translation of phone calls using on-device AI. The integration probably won´t be limited to WhatsApp and also extend to third-party applications like Google Meet and WeChat.
The information about the upgrade of Galaxy AI comes from insider Ice Universe, who correctly predicted upcoming upgrades for Samsung Galaxy phones in the past and seems to be an insider from inside or with close ties to the company.

Galaxy AI Capabilities
Samsung´s Galaxy AI Live Translate feature processes data locally, ensuring user privacy. Launched earlier this year, the AI suite for Samsung Galaxy phones aims to enhance user experiences daily.
Samsung has also developed an Interpreter Mode for face-to-face conversations, which is slated for improvements with the upcoming One UI 6.1.1 update.
Integrating Galaxy AI Live Translate into WhatsApp and other messaging apps would be a step forward in Samsung’s efforts to enhance user experience through AI solutions. By expanding real-time translations to widely used platforms, Samsung would strengthen its position by improving connectivity across languages.
Upcoming Announcements and Product Reveals
Most probably the new feature will be announced at an event scheduled for July 10 at the Louvre Museum in Paris, which is expected to introduce several new products. Anticipated launches include the Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Watch7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Ring, and the Galaxy Buds3 series.
The event will also unveil other new Galaxy AI features and the One UI 6.1.1 update, pre-installed on the new foldable devices. Additionally, there are speculations that the One UI 6.1.1 update will enhance the outdoor camera capabilities of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The One UI 6.1.1 update is expected to bring further advancements, including improvements to the Interpreter Mode for face-to-face conversations.
Samsung has been ramping up its efforts to integrate AI features in various product categories. In May the company announced Galaxy AI integration for Galaxy Watch wearables with a focus on more intelligent health tracking and analysis.
The company also jumped on the bandwagon for AI-optimized Copilot+ PCs when it presented its new Galaxy Book4 Edge notebook series, which runs on Snapdragon X CPUs built on ARM architecture and includes a neural processing unit for AI-specific tasks.
