AI Features and Connectivity
The Galaxy Book4 Edge series is the first laptop to feature the Microsoft Copilot+ AI assistant. The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chipset is designed to handle AI workloads locally on the device. Samsung has also integrated its own AI features, such as Circle to Search, Live Translate, and Chat Assist, which are part of the Galaxy AI ecosystem. Both the 14-inch and 16-inch models feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with a 2.8K resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. The device supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
Running on Windows 11, Samsung's new device also provide access to Microsoft's new Copilot+ series. Copilot+ PCs are devices that have specific capabilities. To qualify as a Copilot+ PC, a system must deliver at least 40 tera operations per second (TOPs) of NPU performance, which is significantly higher than the 10 TOPs offered by other AI PCs. Microsoft says that these PCs are 58 percent faster than M3-powered MacBook Airs. Yesterday, the company launched its new Copilot+ Surface devices that also feature Snapdragon X processing.
Preorder Incentive and Availability
All three models come with 16GB of RAM, meeting the minimum requirement for a Copilot Plus PC. They also include Samsung's Knox secure enclave and features that enable data sharing with Samsung Galaxy Phones. Preorders for the Galaxy Book4 Edge series start on May 20th. Samsung is offering a free 50-inch TV, valued at $379, with preorders while supplies last. Full availability for the Galaxy Book4 Edge begins on June 18th.
