In a strategic move to enhance corporate browser security, has introduced Chrome Enterprise Premium, a new offering that aims to provide advanced security features for corporate users of its Chrome browser. Priced at $6 per user per month, this premium version of Chrome is designed to offer a suite of AI-powered security tools, marking a significant step in browser monetization strategies.

Enhanced Security Features and AI Integration

Chrome Enterprise Premium is set to redefine browser security with its inclusion of AI-driven security capabilities. According to Parisa Tabriz, VP of Chrome at Google, the premium service introduces “Context-aware access control,” a feature designed to mitigate data exfiltration risks associated with both sanctioned and unsanctioned applications. This development comes in response to the increasing threat posed by applications, which have been known to capture and utilize local data for training purposes. A notable endorsement of the service's effectiveness comes from Nick Reva, head of corporate security engineering at Snap, who reported a “noteworthy 50 percent reduction in content transfers” after implementing data loss prevention restrictions and warnings for sharing sensitive information in generative AI platforms.

Comprehensive Corporate Controls and Reporting

Beyond its advanced security measures, Chrome Enterprise Premium offers an array of enterprise controls to support corporate policies, manage software updates, and facilitate various protocols including RDP, SCP, and SSH. The service also provides extensive event and device reporting capabilities, along with forensic tools that integrate seamlessly with other Google and third-party security products. Additionally, subscribers will benefit from enhanced threat and data protection features, such as malware scanning, dynamic URL filtering, and site categorization, all bolstered by AI technology.
