Mojang has introduced a new downloadable content (DLC) pack, expanding the diverse universe of Minecraft with a theme based on the colossal film series, Jurassic World. If you are thinking there is already a Jurassic World Minecraft DLC, you would be correct. Launched in 2020, that DLC focused on the first movie in the Jurassic World trilogy.
This latest DLC focuses on the two following movies and is aptly named “Jurassic World Adventures,” the DLC draws inspiration from the narrative and settings of the recent movies in the franchise, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” and “Jurassic World Dominion,” where dinosaurs have escaped captivity and are roaming globally.
Immersive Gameplay and Characters
Within the “Jurassic World Adventures” DLC package, players have the opportunity to assume the role of iconic characters from the film series. These include Dr. Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, Claire Dearing, Kayla Watts, and Owen Grady. Gamers will embark on missions that span across famous locations, dedicated to the research of the formidable creatures, as well as undertaking rescue operations for dinosaurs in peril due to illegal capturing practices. The intrinsic goal of the game is for players to observe dinosaurs in their habitats, but roles expand to include thwarting the plans of nefarious entities.
The DLC pack also introduces new vehicles, such as off-road jeeps and motorcycles, adding an additional layer of engagement and survival elements to the gameplay. Minecraft adventurers will utilize these vehicles to navigate through perilous terrain and protect the prehistoric inhabitants. Additionally, the package promises to take players on research trips to locations fans will recognize from the “Jurassic World” film series.
Pricing and Future Developments
As of the publication, “Jurassic World Adventures” is available on the Minecraft Marketplace. Players can purchase it for 1510 Minecraft coins, equivalent to approximately $8.77. Enthusiasts of the “Jurassic Park/World” movie series can look forward to continued crossover between the films and the gaming industry.
For instance, Saber Interactive has announced the forthcoming release of “Jurassic World: Survival,” which is set to take place immediately following the events of the 1993 original “Jurassic Park” film. It centralizes around an InGen scientist's efforts to escape Isla Nublar whilst avoiding its dinosaur inhabitants. The game's release date is yet to be disclosed.
