VMware and Nvidia Team up to Enable AI Model Development for Businesses

The upcoming VMware Private AI Foundation with Nvidia will let businesses create and use different AI applications, like chatbots and advanced search tools.

VMware and Nvidia have announced a new collaboration focused on generative AI for enterprises. The partnership aims to introduce the VMware Private AI Foundation with Nvidia, a platform designed to help businesses fine-tune Large Language Models (LLMs) and run inference workloads within their data centers. The platform, which integrates with  the upcoming VMware Private A, is set to incorporate the Nvidia NeMo framework, Nvidia LLMs, and other community models. The release is scheduled for early 2024.

AI Model Development for Businesses

Enterprises face challenges in deploying generative AI, including concerns over data privacy, the selection of LLMs, associated costs, performance demands, and compliance requirements. VMware’s new architectural approach, VMware Private AI, seeks to address these challenges by offering a range of AI solutions with integrated security and management features. 

The upcoming VMware Private AI Foundation with Nvidia will let businesses create and use different AI applications, like chatbots and advanced search tools. Nvidia and VMware plan on keeping data safe, so no one can get to it without permission.

Option for VMware´s Private AI Ecosystem

VMware Private AI Foundation with Nvidia will be an option available in the upcoming VMware Private AI ecosystem. With VMware Private AI, enterprises can run a diverse range of AI solutions, including Nvidia AI Software, open-source community repositories, and offerings from independent software vendors. The platform is backed by partnerships with leading AI providers, ensuring optimal performance with GPU integrations. It aims to enhance productivity by eliminating redundant tasks and fostering intelligent process improvement mechanisms. The platform is supported by industry leaders like Nvidia, Intel, Dell Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and Lenovo, among others.

VMware Private AI Foundation with Nvidia

Companies will be able to tailor their AI models according to their specific needs and preferences. With the integration of Nvidia’s technology, users can expect swift and efficient performance, even when handling extensive AI tasks that span multiple computer systems.

VMware Private AI Foundation with Nvidia will also incorporate Nvidia NeMo, a feature that simplifies the AI development process. This ensures that businesses, regardless of their tech proficiency, can effortlessly build and deploy AI models in any environment they prefer.

VMware and Nvidia’s partnership dates back a decade. Three years ago, the companies introduced the VMware + Nvidia AI-Ready Enterprise Platform, aimed at providing an AI-Ready infrastructure for data scientists. Dell Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and Lenovo have expressed support for the initiative. These collaborations aim to offer businesses integrated solutions for enterprise data centers, facilitating the deployment of generative AI tools and foundation models.
