Stability AI, the world’s leading open source generative AI company, has announced the launch of Reimagine XL, a new feature for its popular imaging tool Clipdrop. Reimagine XL allows users to create multiple variants of an image with Stable Diffusion, a powerful generative AI model that can produce realistic and diverse images from text or sketches.
Clipdrop is a suite of imaging applications that has amassed more than 15 million users since its launch in July 2020. Clipdrop incorporates advanced machine learning research and engineering in its industry-leading imaging tools, such as Remove Background, Super Resolution, Relight, and Text Remover. Clipdrop is available on all major platforms, including iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Photoshop, and on the web.
Reimagine XL is the latest addition to Clipdrop’s line of products and the first one to leverage Stability AI’s open source generative AI models. Reimagine XL enables users to unleash their creativity and generate anything in any style with simple text or sketch inputs. Users can also choose from a variety of styles and use-cases, such as abstract shape, cinematic, origami, photographic, digital art, fantasy art, 3D model, and more.
Reimagine XL is designed to be simple and elegant, requiring no technical know-how or pixel sourcing. Users can simply type or draw what they want to create and Reimagine XL will generate high-quality images that match their vision. Users can also adjust the aspect ratio and resolution of the output images and save them for personal or commercial use.

Stability AI is Expanding its Reach
It has been a very bust last few weeks for Stability AI. Earlier this month, Stability announced the Stable Animation SDK in beta preview. The Stable Animation SDK enables users to easily generate 3D models of any object, character, or scene by simply describing them in words. For example, one can write “a dragon with red scales and green eyes” and get a 3D model of a dragon that matches the description. Users can also modify the models by adding or changing attributes, such as color, shape, size, texture, pose, and more.
The Stable Animation SDK is now available for beta testing for selected developers. Interested users can sign up on Stability AI’s website to get early access and updates on the SDK. Also this month, the company released StableStudio. StableStudio allows users to create realistic and artistic images from text prompts, using Stability AI’s state-of-the-art image generation model, Stable Diffusion. It is an open-source version of its popular DreamStudio web app.
Stable Diffusion is a generative AI model that uses a diffusion process to gradually transform random information into coherent images. Stability AI decided to release an open-source version of DreamStudio, called StableStudio, in order to promote collaborative and transparent development of the app. According to Stability AI’s blog post, “We believe the best way to expand upon that impressive reach is through open, community-driven development rather than a private iteration of a closed-source product.”
