Microsoft Brings GPT-4 to LinkedIn for AI Content Suggestions

OpenAI’s GPT-4 is now a part of LinkedIn, providing AI content suggestions for users to build more engaging profiles.

Earlier this week, announced , the latest version of its AI model engine. Of course, was quick to leverage its partnership with OpenAI and adopt GPT-4. We already heard yesterday how the updated AI is now a part of Bing Chat, and Microsoft is now also bringing it to .

Microsoft's business social network is now folding in GPT-4 AI capabilities. Specifically, LinkedIn says that it will now provide AI writing suggestions when users are creating profiles, while it will also be available for recruitment posts.

LinkedIn is using GPT-4 to help users personalize their profiles, while the older GPT-3.5 will help to generate job descriptions. Speaking to TechCrunch, the company explains how the AI-powered writing suggestions will help users be more productive:

“Our tool identifies the most important skills and experiences to highlight in your About and Headline sections, and crafts suggestions to make your profile stand out,” the company says. “By doing the heavy lifting for you, the tool saves you time and energy while still maintaining your unique voice and style.”

How it Works

Not everyone can write confidently or engagingly. Prompts from LinkedIn via GPT AI will help those who cannot write compelling information about themselves. For profiles, the AI takes the users' skills and experience and creates “About” and “Headline” sections about them. These sections will reportedly reflect the user's style.

LinkedIn urges all users to edit and check the content the AI generates before publishing it. This is to avoid errors that still happen in AI suggestions.

Microsoft played a fundamental role in the development of GPT AI. The company has co-developed aspects of the AI with OpenAI. Of course, Microsoft is also a multi-billion-dollar investor in the AI research and development group. GPT-4 is the most accurate and “human-like” version of the AI to date and Microsoft is likely to integrate it into more services in the near future.

Tip of the day: After years of hefting a laptop around, you inevitably build up a menagerie of Wi-Fi networks. For the most part, they'll sit on your PC, hardly used, but at times a change in configuration can make it difficult to connect to a network your computer already remembers. At this point, it can be beneficial to make Windows forget a Wi-Fi network and delete its network profile.
