Microsoft has released a new update for Xbox consoles, bringing a host of new features and improvements aimed at enhancing the gaming experience. The update includes several new features, such as two new power modes, voice control with Google Home devices, a dynamic background option, and more.
Power Modes and Voice Control with Google Home Devices
The two new power modes introduced in the update are Instant-on and Energy-saving. Instant-on mode provides faster startup times, allowing users to quickly resume their games from standby. Meanwhile, Energy-saving mode shuts down the console completely when not in use, resulting in lower power consumption.
Another addition to the update is the integration of Xbox consoles with Google Assistant. This new app allows users to turn on and off their consoles, launch games and apps, adjust volume, and capture screenshots with voice commands, making it easier for users to control their console with voice commands.
Other New Features
The update also includes several other features, such as a dynamic background option that changes colors based on the theme of the dashboard. The redesigned game management page displays more information about installed games and updates. A new achievements tracker displays progress and stats for up to five achievements at a time. A new official clubs section showcases content from Xbox Game Studios and other partners. Lastly, the update includes a new accessibility feature that allows users to zoom in and out of any part of the screen using a controller.
Availability
The new update is available now for all Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. Users can check for updates manually by going to Settings > System > Updates on their consoles. For more information on the update, users can visit the official announcement on the Xbox website.
