Apple now provides Self Service Repair locations across Europe, with centers in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the UK. Customers within those countries can bring iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models to be repaired. Select Macs can also be repaired at the locations.
If you’re wondering about iPhone 14 series smartphones, they are still under warranty having launched in September.
According to Apple, the locations allow customers to manually repair their own iPhone models. This is an extension of the program that the company initially launched in the US last year.
Repairs
The iPhone maker has announced that users will be able to access a wide range of individual parts through a new online store. Customers will have the option to either buy or rent the tools they need.
“We believe the best technology for our customers and for the planet is technology that lasts, which is why we design our products to be durable and rarely require maintenance or repair,” says Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer.
“But when a repair is needed, we want customers to have many options for safe, reliable, and secure repair. That’s why we’re excited to launch Self Service Repair in Europe, giving our customers direct access to genuine Apple parts, tools, and manuals.”
Apple says the parts that customers can access at the repair stores are the same ones it provides to authorized repair retailers. It is worth noting the company says the repair locations are for technicians with experience and the know how to repair electronic devices.
