We have known for some time that Minecraft: The Wild Update would drop this year, but Microsoft-owned developer Mojang never put a firm date on the release. Well, the wait is now over as Minecraft: The Wild Update is now available.
The Wild Update is dropping for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Minecraft: Java Edition and is available across those platforms. That means gamers can download the update on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS (Bedrock Edition), and Windows, Linux, and macOS (Java Edition).
Mojang points out that users running the PC version on Windows can play the Wild Update on the Bedrock and Java Editions. In terms of those running the Bedrock version, there are two free character creator items arriving with the update.
Changelog
Minecraft: The Wild Update comes with loads of additions, improvements, and more:
“Craft your path
Experience Minecraft in a whole new light—or dark. Evade the warden in the deep dark if you dare. Explore the swamps together with frogs and tadpoles. Ask an allay to collect supplies to fill the chest on your boat. Build with sculk, mud, and mangrove wood. The choices are endless, and all of them yours.
Explore new Biomes
Set your sights for adventure, wander aimlessly, or seek out something new in The Wild Update!
Challenge Yourself in the Deep Dark
Tread carefully in the deep dark or risk waking the warden.
Celebrate Nature in the Mangrove Swamp
Leap through the swamps with frogs and tadpoles.
The Warden
An entirely new biome lies at the bottom of the Overworld—will you venture into the deep dark and risk coming face to face with the warden? Evade it if you dare.
Frogs
Frogs and tadpoles are swimming into the Overworld’s swamps—but are they pets or specimens to be studied?
The Allay
Illuminate the dark sky with froglight blocks and play with note blocks to attract the allay.
New blocks
Sculk, Mangrove Tree, Mud blocks.”
Tip of the day: Whether it’s for a presentation, song, or YouTube video, at some point in your life you’ll need to record audio from your computer. Windows 11 has multiple options to record sound due to its litany of apps. In our tutorial, we show you how to record audio using the built-in Windows 10 Voice Recorder and the freeware audio editor Audacity.
