WhatsApp is known to be working on a future called Community, which will provide more usefulness to conversations on the app. We have already seen the tool on WhatsApp beta for Android, and it has now been spotted on Apple’s iOS.

This confirms that the tool will drop on both iOS and Android. The once-Facebook-but-now-Meta-owned company has still not said when the WhatsApp Community will be available for everyone.

If you are unfamiliar with WhatsApp Community, it gives group admins the ability to compile 10 groups into a single community. The idea is that it will be easier for group members to see content from all groups within the community.

Think of it as a common group across a collection of groups, giving admins more control. For admins, there will be the ability to give permission to users for messaging on a group, limiting messages, and more.

While personal users may not have much use for the Community, it will boost WhatsApp’s business credentials considerably. For example, a business can collect all their WhatsApp groups into a single community for more oversight and management.

It is worth noting members of a community (non-admin) leave, they will no longer see the groups they were linked to.

WhatsApp is still developing the Community too, so its release schedule is not clear. It is now currently even available to beta users, so we guess it will be deep into 2022 before the feature makes its way to end users.
