Microsoft Viva Gets New Partner Integrations and Developer Tools

During day one of Inspire 2021, Microsoft introduced new features for its Microsoft Viva employee experience service.

At the Inspire partner conference today, introduced some new features for , including development tools and partner integrations.

Back in February, Microsoft introduced Viva Learning, which is a new part of the company's expanded employee experience service. At Ignite 2021 last month, Microsoft said Viva would arrive in preview soon.

Viva Connections has been available to all SharePoint customers since March. The second, Viva Insights launched in public preview the same month to give organizations actionable insights into productivity across teams. Viva Learning arrived in preview during April, while Viva Topics is providing the backbone of Project Alexandria data parsing.

During Inspire, Microsoft introduced a bunch of new partner integrations in Viva. Specifically, 21 new integrations are available on the platform, including from ServiceNow, Workday, and Qualtrics. However, the integrations will not go live until fall.

“Through these new partner integrations, in addition to existing partnerships with Headspace, SuccessFactors and others, customers can seamlessly surface tools, insights and experiences personalized for employees in the flow of their work.”

Also during the event, the company revealed Microsoft Viva developers and partners can access new feature to help them build for the platform. Viva Connections APIs will launch later this year and make is simple to integrate onto the Viva Connections dashboard.

Microsoft is betting big on Viva becoming a major platform and it will take partner support to reach the company's expectations. However, Microsoft is also using Viva tools internally on its own projects.

Last week we reported on how Viva Topics is linking with Project Alexandria, an AI research solution that has been around since 2014. Project Alexandria is becoming more useful as it provides the underpinning tech of Microsoft Viva Topics.
