Minecraft in 2020

This year has been a typically busy one for Minecraft. This is the year the game finally linked up with Star Wars for an official DLC, something that has been highly anticipated. Another major franchise tie-in saw a Jurassic World DLC hit the marketplace.

Minecraft Realms finally got its debut on PlayStation in August, allowing Sony's platform to finally catch up with other Minecraft versions.

On the technical side, Microsoft transitioned the base of the game from Amazon Web Services to its own Azure. This happened just as Minecraft passed 200 million copies sold to continue as the most popular game ever.
