Reveled this week and available immediately, the new repo allows WinDev users to see issues that may affect them on Windows. Microsoft will use the repository to gather and catalog problems in the dev cycle for the platform.

“We created this repo to enable developers who use Windows to submit & discuss issues directly to Windows engineering teams who don't already have a repo of their own, whether the issues you uncover are to do with using Windows itself, or running your code on Windows,” says Rich Turner, Senior Program Manager, Windows Developer Team.

Microsoft points out the repo covers developers creating applications for Windows and those who are coding on Windows. At the moment, developers can head to GitHub and report developer-focused performance problems.

For example:

  • “Dev tools (e.g. compilers, linkers, etc.) running slower on Windows than expected
  • Runtime platforms (e.g. node, .NET, Python) running slower on Windows than other platforms
  • Your apps experiencing file IO/networking/process-creation related perf issues”

If you are a Windows Developer, you can check out the repo here.
