Microsoft is likely to unveil some new Surface products this month to go with its upcoming Windows 10 May 2020 Update. Specifically, the Surface Book 3 and Surface Go 2 are likely to be announced. Microsoft’s flagship laptop will arrive for its third generation, while the low-end tablet Surface Go gets a sequel.
Of course, both devices will come with refreshed specifications. We have already heard plenty about the Surface Book 3, including several benchmarks. Information on the Surface Go 2 have been more infrequent.
Today, WinFuture has discovered some photos of the upcoming device and also some of its core specs. As you can see in the images, the Surface Go 2 does not look different to the previous model. That’s not rare for a Surface product because Microsoft likes a uniformed design across generations.
For users upgrading from a first-generation mode, that’s good news because they won’t have to buy a new Type Cover.
More Specs
As for specifications, Microsoft will bump screen resolution to 1920 x 1280 pixels. The company is also launching two variants of the Surface Go 2. One will feature an Intel Gold 4425Y CPU and the other an Intel Core m3-8100Y processor. Microsoft will also bring LTE to the Surface Go, making it more attractive to many consumers.
Elsewhere, the device will get 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage or a variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
As for the Surface Book 3, it will come in 13-inch and 15-inch models, like the current range. There will be two CPU variants, the expected Intel Core i5-10210U and Intel Core i7-10510U processors.
Microsoft has already suggested the Surface Book 3 will support up to 32GB RAM, a 100% increase on the RAM cap for the Book 2. The pages show storage will be handled with a choice up to 1TB NVMe SSD.
