Minecraft Dungeons Now Arriving on May 30

Microsoft has rescheduled the release of Minecraft Dungeons, from April 30 to May 26, amid ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

developer Mojang as re-scheduled the release of Minecraft Dungeons, with the much-anticipated now expected to land on May 26. Earlier this month, the -owned company announced the game would launch on April 30.

You probably already know why Minecraft Dungeons has been cancelled. Mojang says the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has escalated since the first launch announcement. As such, less developers have been working on the game and the company says it won't risk its teams.

As you all know, we initially planned to release Minecraft Dungeons by the end of April. However, due to the current state of the world, this was no longer possible, as we wanted to guarantee the health and safety of our teams and empower them to deliver the best possible experience to you, our players. We hope you'll find it was worth the wait.

At E3 2019 last June, Microsoft announced Minecraft Dungeons, a new iteration of its blockbuster game franchise. Microsoft is clinging on to the promise it made at E3 to launch Dungeons in spring 2020.

Of course, it is possible the COVID-19 outbreak will continue to develop, and Microsoft may be forced into rescheduling gain. However, at the moment, the company has committed to the May 30 launch across Xbox One, Windows, Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.

Minecraft Dungeons is a blend between the normal Minecraft block building and dungeon crawling action like Diablo. The company also confirmed the title will come to Xbox Game Pass on launch. The game will support Minecraft's Cross-Play feature and will be available in 4K.
