Microsoft for Startups will bundle more of the giant’s software as its participants gear up for over $1 billion in new sales opportunities in 2020. Those in the program will now gain access to GitHub Premium and the Microsoft Power platform, two very strong tools.
GitHub will be a household name for any developer, and its inclusion here is a natural consequence of Microsoft acquiring the company in 2018. Its Enterprise subscription gives users unlimited collaborators per repository, 50,000 action minutes per month, 50GB of GitHub package storage, and advanced auditing.
The PowerPlatform is the company’s umbrella for data analysis tool Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents. Its inclusion should help young enterprises make data-driven decisions and increase efficiency across various aspects of the business.
GitHub’s offering is available today, while participants will get access to the Power Platform in the coming months. It was unable to give a more specific release date just yet and didn’t disclose what the holdup is.
Looking further into the future, though, it wants to extend its reach reach “into communities of under-estimated founders” and those with diverse voices. Microsoft will also provide open access to distribution channels like Azure Marketplace and AppSource, as well as CSPs and its enterprise sales force.
This latest development expands on support for Nvidia Inception that was announced in November last year. That partnership was designed to accelerate AI growth, pairing deep learning expertise and GPU with Microsoft’s cloud services.
