Microsoft Announces Windows-Centric Ignite 2019 Schedule

Ignite 2019 will kick off in November and Microsoft has today confirmed over 400 sessions for the event, with hundreds more to come.

Traditionally, September is the month of 's Ignite partner conference. While we would normally be readying for the event, is not coming next month. However, Microsoft still has some Ignite-related information for us and has announced the schedule for the 2019 event.

Announced on the official Ignite 2019 Twitter account, the schedule is now live on the official conference website. You can head there to browse the 469 sessions Microsoft has announced.

As usual, this is just the preliminary schedule as Microsoft will add move over the two months leading up to Ignite 2019 in November. Indeed, the official website homepage promises there will be over 1000 sessions at the conference this year. While Build is Microsoft's bells and whistles event, Ignite is by far its biggest.

Having a quick browse through the sessions list, there is an obvious focus on at this year's event. Microsoft has generally moved away from Windows at Ignite conferences in recent years. That seems to be changing at Ignite 2019.

Windows Focus

Interestingly, earlier this month Microsoft showed Windows is no longer the focus flagship service behind the company. Microsoft used its 2019 Form 10-K report to highlight its transition away from Windows as its business focus. The company has previously referenced Windows 10 as “the cornerstone” of its mission to create a more personal computing experience.

In the 2019 report, which was published in July in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing, now places Windows within a wider strategy:

“We strive to make computing more personal by putting users at the core of the experience, enabling them to interact with technology in more intuitive, engaging, and dynamic ways. In support of this, we are bringing Office, Windows, and devices together for an enhanced and more cohesive customer experience.

As usual, Ignite will be held in Orlando. The event is scheduled to run from November 4 until November 8.
