LinkedIn Wants to Make Interviews Easier with Video Coaching

LinkedIn has announced new video content that will help users understand how to best answer common interview questions.

Interviews for jobs are arguably the most important part of the hiring process. Everyone knows first impressions count, but there are many aspects of interviewing that can be prepared for. is working on more features to help users better prepare for job interviews.

The -owned business network already has some robust interview preparedness tools in place, for example, LinkedIn users can see the most common interview questions and receive advice from leading experts, such as career analysts, hiring managers, and recruitment companies.

Looking forward, LinkedIn wants to do more. In the coming weeks, the company will introduce short video clips that help users how to best answer those most commonly asked questions. Members of the network's premium service will also receive access to expert-approved sample interview answers to help handle interviews better.

“At LinkedIn, we've found that 54 percent of jobseekers say the interview phase is “moderately to extremely challenging” due to two reasons: uncertainty and lack of confidence. That's why we're starting to roll out a new suite of tools to help you prepare more effectively, so you're ready to crush your next interview.”

Availability

Users will be able to access these tools during this month. However, the new interview features are limited to users in English speaking countries on mobile and desktop versions.

LinkedIn will also roll out another feature this summer. The company will allow users to send recordings of their interview rehearsals to trusted connections. These contacts can provide feedback and offer advice to perfecting the interview technique. The company says this will help individuals improve their job chances and help forge deeper connections.
