Microsoft Releases First Windows 10 20H1 ISO Images

Microsoft has rolled out build 18912 ISO images for Windows 10 20H1, now available on the Fast ring for Insiders.

-

has rolled out its latest ISO images for Windows Insider Preview. The company has moved its platform up to build 18912 for Insiders, making this the first ISO release for the 20H1 development branch.

Windows Insiders have been able to download the latest ISO preview on the Fast Ring since last week, and it has now moved to more Insiders.

In an unusual move, Microsoft has decided to keep the older ISO build 18343 available. That is a non release that has been available since March. Microsoft files this update under the SLOW branch and the newest build 18912 ISO on the FAST branch.

That makes sense as Microsoft is now wholesale behind Windows 10 20H1 on the Fast ring. It seems Microsoft will eventually start using the Slow ring to flight its Windows 10 19H2 previews.

As we have reported before, Microsoft has approached its upcoming Windows releases differently. Windows 10 20H1 will not launch until next spring, but the has been previewing it since March. However, no previews for Windows 10 19H1, which launches this fall, have been released yet.

Yes, it's a slightly confusing strategy that Microsoft has not explained the reason for.

New Update

Either way, Windows 10 build 18912 ISO is now available and can be downloaded in three variants: Windows 10 Insider Preview, Windows 10 Insider Preview Enterprise, and Windows 10 Insider Preview Home China. All variants are available here.

Among the features already available for next year's H1 Windows 10 release. Microsoft has introduced Task Manager improvements, an update for its Your Phone service, a tool for users to manage bandwidth speeds through Windows Update, and physical keyboard text recommendations.
