Microsoft is officially on the Fortnite bandwagon and has today announced a special edition Xbox One S. Based on the pop culture phenomenon game, the new console has been planned for some time. Microsoft has finally revealed the device ahead of its E3 2019 briefing on Sunday.

This is a bundle package that includes an Xbox One S console with 1TB of storage and a controller. The hardware is all decked in purple. In terms of games, what are Microsoft offering considering Fortnite is free (Battle Royal, at least)?

Well, Redmond is giving access to an exclusive Dark Vertex Cosmetic Suit that is only available with this bundle. Of course, Fortnite is as much about collecting items as it is gameplay, so this may appeal to many gamers.

Also included in the package is 2000 V-Bucks to spend in the game.

“Own the Xbox One S Fortnite Battle Royale Special Edition Bundle and battle to be the last one standing. This bundle includes a gradient purple Xbox One S console, a purple Xbox Wireless Controller, a Legendary Outfit, an Epic Glider, a Rare Pickaxe (available in Fortnite Battle Royale and Fortnite Creative modes) and 2000 V-Bucks,” Microsoft said.

Customers will be able to purchase the bundle starting from Friday June 7, two days before Xbox at E3.

Fortnite Success

While Fortnite is not quite at the meteoric heights as a pop culture earthquake as it was in 2018, it remains the most popular game in the world. Epic Games, the developer behind the title, was reported recently to be making $2 million a day from the game.

Furthermore, Fortnite has created a goldmine for content creators. Live streamers and YouTubers have become millionaires just from playing the game.
