Dell Teases Windows 10 Home Ultra Edition at XPS 13 Launch

While launching its new generation XPS 13 2-in-1, Dell seemed to leak a new Windows 10 Home Ultra edition for PCs.

It seems is working on expanding its line of editions. As Neowin reports, PC vendor Dell has leaked information about a new Windows 10 Home Ultra SKU.

The information was spotted within Dell's specifications for its upcoming XPS 13 2-in-1 laptop, which was announced at Computex on Monday.

If Dell was willing to go to press with information surrounding Windows 10 Home Ultra, that would suggest some legitimacy. Of course, Microsoft has yet to announce it officially. However, there have been rumors of a new Windows 10 Home variant for some time.

In fact, the company has denied there is a new Windows 10 version on the way. So what gives, has Dell simply made a mistake, or is Microsoft staying secretive?

We will take Microsoft's denial at face value for the time being, but this is something worth watching over the coming weeks.

New XPS 13

As for Dell's new XPS 13 2-in-1, this is a good laptop whatever Windows 10 SKU it runs. At just 0.28-inches thin, this is a svelte machine that weighs a feathery 2.9 pounds.

In terms of specs, the XPS 13 gets Dell's InfinityEdge screen technology providing up to 4K resolutions through a 16:10 aspect ratio. Elsewhere, the laptop can be configured up to 32GB LPDDR4x SDRAM at 3733MHz and up to 1TB SSD.

Also at Computex, Intel announced its 10th generation processors. This chipset will be running under the hood of the XPS. With that in mind, Dell has only put a “coming soon” timeframe on the laptop's launch. We do know the XPS 13 will cost $999 when it does arrive.
