If you are a freelancer, the chances are you use services like Cloudpeeps, Freelancer, or Upwork to find clients. All those services do a good job at connected workers with contractors. However, they are all a third party. believes with the dataset of users it has access to, can compete with these established names.

As such, the -owned business social network is creating a freelance connection tool. According to app reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong, LinkedIn will debut a new field called “Services”.

This will aim to match freelance websites by allowing users to find business, individuals, and project managers who are seeking services based on skillset.

On Services in LinkedIn, you will be able to add which services you work in. Unlike dedicated sites like Upwork, LinkedIn will do all the work for you. The platform will connect you with clients who are looking for the services you provide.

Manchun Wong posted the screenshot you see above to showcase the feature. However, it remains in development and is not available yet. LinkedIn has not discussed Services officially, so no dates on the release are known.

Priority Posts

Another new feature coming to the network is a teammates feature for priority posting. While not available yet, the Teammates feature will allow professionals to prioritize which posts they want to see on LinkedIn.

“Once the feature goes live you should see the text “Add Teammates,”  where you can specify your manager, peers and/or direct reports and from there, we'll prioritize updates in your feed about your team's activity on LinkedIn, such as posts, comments, likes, shares, and work anniversaries.”
