Microsoft Opens Mixed Reality Dev Days Invitation Applications

Developers can now apply to receive an invite to Microsoft’s upcoming Mixed Reality Dev Days events that will happen before Build 2019.

-

Back in February, announced it will hold Mixed Reality Dev Days in may to focus the developer community on Windows Mixed Reality. Today, the company has opened applications for the events, which will be held on May 2 and 3 ahead of the company's Build Conference.

Mixed Reality Dev Days are free to attend and will be held at Microsoft's Redmond base. The company says applications are now open and interested developers can apply for an invitation until mid-day PST on April 5.

“We designed Mixed Reality Dev Days for YOU – experts in mixed reality and the many aspects of cloud and AI technology that come with it, from computer vision to hologram creation. If you are a mixed reality developer looking to get training on our developer platform, tools, services and devices, Mixed Reality Dev Days is a great fit,” Microsoft explains in an FAQ for the event.

While invitation applications are open for just a short time, Microsoft will open them again if not all the spots are filled.

Dev Days

These events will allow developers to view and use Microsoft's latest Mixed Reality technologies. Developers will also be able to interact with other dev's and other people from the virtual and augmented reality industry.

Microsoft says during the Mixed Reality Dev Days, attendees can:

  • “Code alongside our engineering teams.
  • Learn and test the latest in our portfolio: HoloLens 2, new Azure mixed reality services, Azure Kinect Developer Kit, and more!
  • Connect with developers like you who are leading a new era of mixed reality applications.
Dev Days is designed for you—your ideas, your feedback. We would love to get your input, learn more about you, your customers and work, and how we can better work alongside you. As we move into this third wave of computing, one based on open principles, Microsoft is a trusted partner who values your feedback. Dev Days is one of the first of many opportunities to build that relationship with you.”
