Gamescom 2018 is underway in Cologne Germany, running throughout this week. Last week, Microsoft used a blog post to bill some big announcements. Well, the company took to the stage at Gamescom yesterday and dropped plenty of information about upcoming Xbox One games.

Many have been hoping the company would announce a new Xbox One Elite Controller at Gamescom. Sadly, that did not happen, which is a shame. Instead, Microsoft used the event to discuss upcoming software.

That’s both a good and bad thing. Firstly, it is good that the company announced some information on its upcoming first-party exclusives for Xbox One. However, like Sony’s PlayStation event, many of the games highlighted were cross platform.

Sure, it’s good to see which major releases are heading to Xbox One, but we would always prefer Microsoft exclusive information. Either way, we will start with the companies Xbox-specific titles.

Exclusive Games

Hunt: Showdown is an upcoming first-person shooter that puts a focus on cooperation. Coming to Xbox One and Windows 10, the game sees humanity fighting back again monsters that have taken control of the world. Microsoft revealed at Gamescom the title will be arriving on Xbox Game Preview soon.

Sea of Thieves: Forsaken Shores is an expansion pack for Microsoft’s tripe A blockbuster. Forsaken Shores will arrive on Xbox One and Windows 10 on September 19. Microsoft says the expansion comes with a new “Devil’s Roar” region for gamers to explore.

Forza Horizon 4 will probably be Microsoft’s biggest title of the 2018 holiday season. When it launches next month, the game will be packed into new Xbox One bundles.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is hardly a new product, although Microsoft confirmed at Gamescom the game pack will arrive on Xbox Game Pass on September 1. Simultaneously, the company will also bring the collection to Xbox One X on the same date. Additionally, an accompanying app will arrive on iOS and Android.

Third-Party Titles

PUBG is close to being a Microsoft exclusive, at least in the console market, as it has yet to arrive on PS4. Either way, the battle royale game will be leaving Xbox Game Preview and be released properly on September 4.

Battlefield V is a highly-anticipated game which received a new trailer at Gamescom. Combat customization is a big part of the title. While the game is not an exclusive, Microsoft did announce a special “Gold Rush” Xbox One X design that will be bundled with Battlefield V.

Speaking of bundles, joining Battlefield V and Microsoft’s own Forza Horizon 4 is Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The upcoming latest entry in the Lara Croft saga will launch September 14.
