he After the incredible success of its Pixel phone, is becoming a respected hardware company. Fans are hyped for rumors of a Pixel 3 and XL at Google's fall event, as well as a new iteration of Pixel Buds.

However, renowned leaker Evan Blass says there's more to come. As well as phones, he says Google is planning to release a Pixel-branded smartwatch. For Pixel users, it could be the perfect combination, and it could also signal a Wear OS device with long-term support.

It's worth noting that Blass has an excellent track record. He's previously revealed accurate information about the Galaxy S7, HTC 10, Huawei P9, Lumia 735, and more. The information allegedly comes from a reliable source, and we're inclined to be optimistic.

Three Pixel Smartwatches?

Since the leak, WinFuture.de has doubled down by saying Google actually has three Pixel smartwatches in the works. According to the publication's sources, There are three devices codenamed Ling, Triton, and Sardine.

The three watches are allegedly in the second level of design verification and will be based on the Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform. It says this will feature a quad-core CPU, as well as a new power management system. This will apparently enable active standby.

Other rumors suggest GPS, LTE, Bluetooth, pedometers, heartrate sensors, and 1GB RAM. It's hard to verify any of these, are they're largely generic smartwatch features.

As for the three variants, it's hard to say at this point. The alleged code names are all references to fish, which is standard for Google hardware and gives few clues. It would be quite easy for someone to fabricate with random names.

Essentually, the code names don't give many clues, but it's possible Google is going for three size variants. It could also signify different degrees of water resistance, different designs, or any number of things.

It's possible there will be more leaks, but in all likelihood, we'll have to wait until fall to find out.
