Microsoft’s Azure Partnership with Box Debuts for Enterprise Customers

Several months after its first announcement, Microsoft has brought Box cloud management tools to Azure in November.

has been promising Box cloud content manager integration in Azure since the summer. The company announced a partnership with Box in June. An announcement in October pegged the integration for a November 1 release and Box using Azure is now finally available in US data centers.

In addition, users can take advantage of the Box add-on packages directly in Azure. This includes the necessary governance to match organizational security requirements and compliance standards.

California-based Box offers cloud content management and file sharing service for enterprise customers. The company is already a long-time partner of Microsoft. It has been applying its solutions to the Windows platform as a Windows 8 and app.

Box integration has since extended to several other Microsoft services. This includes integration with , Intune, Active Directory, and Microsoft Teams.

At the time of the announcement, Scott Guthrie, executive VP of Cloud and Enterprise, said Box was equally committed to helping companies digitize. By partnering with Azure, customers will now have more intelligent cloud options.
