Xbox One Backward Compatibility Gets Six New Games

Microsoft has expanded its Xbox One Backward Compatibility program with six new games, including the hugely successful Saints Row: The Third.

-

Microsoft has today expanded its list of Xbox One Backward Compatibility game titles. The list now includes six new games, bringing the total Xbox 360 games working on the next generation console to 423. The new games are Monopoly Deal, Saints Row: The Third, Slender: The Arrival, Super Contra, Undertow, and Virtual On.

Xbox One Backward Compatibility brings Xbox 360 games to the newer Xbox One. This includes all models of the console, such as the original, S, and new Xbox One X. By adding Backward Compatibility, gamers can play classic titles. They can also dip into their older libraries if eligible, or pick up titles for cheaper prices.

Microsoft has worked hard to expand the list of compatible games, and consistently adds more titles.

However, the Xbox team has also talked about how difficult it can be to achieve Backward Compatibility. It is also important, considering it is not available on PlayStation 4. With Sony’s console leading the market, Microsoft needs features that set the devices apart.

In terms of the six new titles, there are some triple A games included (Saints Row: The Third), and plenty of other interesting additions.

New Xbox One Backward Compatibility Games

Monopoly Deal ($4.99): “Everything great about MONOPOLY, now a fast paced, delightfully addictive card game! Compete online against your friends or the community in this frantic card-game: steal sets of cards, collect debts and be the first to collect three complete property sets of different colors. Saints Row: The Third ($14.99): Years after taking Stilwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobble head dolls all available at a store near you. The Saints are kings of Stilwater, but their celebrity status has not gone unnoticed. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute. Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to a new city, playing out the most outlandish gameplay scenarios ever seen. Strap it on.
