Microsoft Translator for iOS Gets 3.0.5 Update, with New Animations, Intuitive Offline Modes, and More

Microsoft Translator for iOS 3.0.5 adds the option to turn off profanity filters, more intuitive 'save for offline' functionality, in-app feedback, and more. The update was available three weeks ago for Android users.

Translator for iOS has received a large update that puts the version at 3.0.5. The extended changelog describes changes to the apps animations, profanity settings, language scrolling behavior, and more.

This build also introduces a number of bug fixes and minor improvements, so it's worth checking out the full changelog below:

  • “Added a setting to turn off profanity filter
  • Added feature to show language detected in the format ‘English (Detected)' and let user swap ‘to'and ‘from' language
  • Updated offline behaviour to make it more intuitive to download and use offline packs for supported languages
  • Added action buttons in text mode while keyboard is up to let user take action on the translation like sharing and pinning
  • Fixed language scrolling behaviour for longer strings
  • Added prompt for app review after frequent usage
  • Updated animation to respond to user input in speech mode
  • Added in-app experience to let users create new bugs or vote for existing features inside the app.”

Unfortunately, Microsoft is also following recent trends by prompting users for reviews. In other apps, this can be incredibly annoying and persistent, so we'll just to have to hope it's been implemented well.
