Earlier today, Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Preview Build 16241 for Windows Insiders. The release is a Fall Creators Update build and comes with gaming and mixed reality improvements. Speaking of the Fall Creators Update (FCU), Microsoft also said its upcoming Bug Bash will be the last for the build.
The company is running a Bug Bash starting today, running it through to July 23. Microsoft says this will be the bash it uses to solidify Windows 10 FCU before it launches this fall:
“The Bug Bash will start at 12am (Pacific Time) on Friday July 14th and will run a full week ending at 11:59 pm (Pacific Time) on Sunday July 23rd. This build will be our Bug Bash build. As usual, we will be publishing new quests so be sure to open Feedback Hub and complete as many quests as you can!”
Microsoft adds that it will be holding Mixer webcasts on Tuesday July 18 and Friday July 21. The first Mixer will run between 1:30pm and 3:00pm and the second will be held between 10:00am and 11:30am.
As is usual, the Big Bash is an event where Microsoft employees and Windows 10 users dedicate their time to finding flaws in the platform. Once a bug is found, it is either squashed immediately or flagged for a future patch.
Microsoft will use this Bug Bash to ask participants to find bugs in the Fall Creators Update. The company is preparing to enter the final lap of the software, which will be launching at the end of the summer.
Windows 10 Build 16241
As mentioned, the announcement came alongside Windows 10 Preview Build 16241. The preview comes to the Fast Ring. As well as gaming and mixed reality boosts, the platform also gets Windows Shell changes and Task Manager improvements.
Earlier this week, Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Preview 16232 SDK and ISO images. This is an important build because it was the first FCU to reach the slow ring.
