Microsoft has announced the general availability of Microsoft Flow for Windows Phone devices in a blog post.
A little more than a year after unveiling Microsoft Flow, the company has released its app for Windows Phone to the Windows Store.
In the blog post, Microsoft notes that the Flow app for Windows Phone devices is similar to the Flow Mobile app for iOS and Android.
It allows users to create and monitor flows, receive notifications, and more.
Of course, the Windows Phone Microsoft Flow app comes with known features which allow users to:
- “Create new flows when you need them – from anywhere!
- Trigger flows to run at the tap of a button
- Manage your flows from anywhere
- Monitor flow success
- Review detailed run history reports
- View and filter runs by notification type”
In addition, Microsoft says in the announcement blog post that two new features are coming soon to the Flow Windows phone app:
- “Shared buttons – share your button flows with your team and colleagues to run.
- Approval center – where you’ll be able to review and approve pending approval requests directly from the app.”
You can download the Microsoft Flow Windows Phone app from the Windows Store.
Installing and creating a button flow
As expected, the announcement comes with guidelines on how to install the Flow Windows phone app. In order to get Microsoft Flow on your Windows Phone device, follow these steps:
- “Open the Windows Store and search for ‘Microsoft Flow’, or use this link.
- Tap ‘Get’ to download the app
- Once the download completes, tap ‘Launch’
- Swipe through the carousel or tap ‘Get Started’
- Sign in to Microsoft Flow. If you don’t have an account for Microsoft Flow, follow these instructions.”
Additionally, Microsoft provides a guide on how to create a button flow. To do so, users have to:
- “Open the Flow app and tap on the ‘Browse’ tab
- Search for ‘Track your working hours’ and tap on the template
- Tap ‘Use this template’. Notice that in order to use this template you will need to create an Excel table with the following columns: Date, Timestamp.
- Connect the required services
- Choose the file and the table within the file, and tap save
- Tap ‘Done’
- Go to the Buttons tab and tap on your button to trigger it”
