Possible Nokia 9 Benchmark Leaks Suggest Model with 8GB of Memory

The Nokia 9 will allegedly ship with a 5.8" QHD display, a Snapdragon 835 processor, and both a 4GB and 8GB variant. The leaks come from Geekbench results and apparent images of the phone.

After Microsoft sold off its Nokia brand to HMD Global, there’s been a lot of speculation about what will happen next. The company quickly announced six Android smartphones this year, starting with releases in Q2.

There have been a series of alleged Geekbench results since then, as well as images. So far the rumors surround a device dubbed the Nokia 9. It will apparently have a Snapdragon 835, a 5.3″ QHD display, 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. However, another benchmark that has been linked with the device suggests an 8GB variant.

However, another benchmark that has been linked with the device suggests an 8GB variant. Previous ones suggest very good multi and single-core performance, putting it ahead of the Galaxy S8.

Inconsistencies

If either of leaks are true, the device code-named “Unknown Heart” is looking to be a solid, high-end smartphone. For now, however, we would argue for a large degree of caution. There are a few things that don’t quite add up yet.

For example, the latest May 25 benchmark reveals a clock speed of 1.9 GHz on the Qualcomm processor. That quite a bit slower than the 835, which has a max of 2.45 GHz.

Of course, it’s hard to say exactly what is going on in development. The team could be trying out different processors or even throttling performance for various reasons.

Basically, nobody can say one way or the other. It’s worth noting, however, that all six devices are set for release this year, so we should find out soon enough.
