Microsoft Updates Xbox One Insiders with New Creators Update Release

This update for the Windows 10 Creators Update on Xbox One does not introduce new features. Microsoft says it is also delaying the release of custom gamerpics to Xbox Insiders.

Beta Ring members of the Xbox Insider Program are getting a new Xbox One build today. Microsoft is has rolled out what is purely a release for solving issues and adding fixes. The company has also said it is pushing back the much-anticipated addition of customer gamerpics to a later date.

The new Beta release for Xbox One is a patch for build 1704, which of course is the Creators Update. This is the first significant release after Microsoft dropped the feature update last week. Xbox users received the Creators Update before anybody else, it will be released on Windows 10 PCs on April 11.

Before getting to the changelog, which is just fixes anyway, it is worth talking about the gamerpics delay. Microsoft has talked about bringing custom gamerpics to Xbox One for some time. This integration was expected to arrive this week on the Alpha Ring of the Insider Program.

However, the company now says it has delayed the feature for a week. Sure, it is not a long time to wait, but for Beta users it means waiting longer. It seems the feature will need to be ironed out in Alpha first. Obviously, general release Xbox One gamers will have to wait even longer.

The Creators Update (build 1704) arrived for all Xbox One users last week. This was a massive update that added several major features and changes to the console. The most significant is full Beam app integration. Gamers can now use the game streaming service to play and interact. Creators Update also made several major UI changes to the look of the console.
