Microsoft Project Scorpio Shows Up on Amazon Pre-Order Page

The pre-order placeholder for Project Scorpio on Amazon follows Microsoft’s similar page on its own store. At the moment, users cannot see the price or place an order for the console.

We have seen interesting Project Scorpio news come thick and fast this week. The latest information regarding Microsoft’s upcoming 4K-gaming Xbox is also interesting. Online retail giant Amazon has now published a pre-order placeholder for Project Scorpio on its US website.

There are a couple of things to note here. Firstly, this does not mean the console is going to be released soon. Microsoft has still not launched it, of course, and we expect a Holiday Season release still. Secondly, this is a placeholder and not an actual pre-order page. This means customers can pre-order Project Scorpio yet or see its price.

You may remember that Microsoft has already published its placeholder on its store. At the start of last month the company opened the page. It allows interested potential customers to receive updates about the console.

On the Amazon page, Project Scorpio is getting the big sell. However, there is not really anything new regarding the console, such as a hint to unknown specs. Here is the listing list for the console:

  • The most powerful console ever, with 6 teraflops of graphical processing power.
  • The first and only console to enable true 4K gaming and hi-fidelity VR.
  • Compatible with all your Xbox One games and accessories.
  • Available Holiday 2017

Speaking of learning about unknown specs, now is a good time to remind readers that today there will be exclusive information revealed about Project Scorpio.

Eurogamer was given a tour of the device by Microsoft and will divulge the info tomorrow. Of course, we will be on hand to pass that information on. It is unclear whether we will learn about new specs, but that is the expectation.

Earlier this week, we reported that Microsoft has already sent developers early Project Scorpio units.

Dev’s are now working on titles for the console, although it is not a version of Scorpio with full potential. Microsoft will bring full performance through Xbox Developer Kit (XDK) updates in May and June.
