Advanced Threat Protection

Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) is another new integration for Office 365. It brings analytic information to organizations, allowing them to see insights and trends on security across a company. This includes malware and spam that comes into the organizations.

Microsoft describes ATP in its announcement:

“Using the new report interface, admins can schedule reports to be sent directly to their inbox, request custom reports and download or manage these reports through dashboards in the Security & Compliance Center. In our continued journey to provide our customers with the most powerful and robust advanced security solution, this new reporting interface helps you understand how ATP mitigates today's most sophisticated threats from impacting your organization.”

Microsoft has additionally expanded ATP to Office 365 ProPlus. With the Safe Links features, customers will have protection from malicious links sent in emails. ATP also checks clicks within a client application to find potential malicious content.

If such a link is found, the user will be shown a warning page that will let them take action against the threat.

Finally, Advanced Data Governance has also been made generally available today. This gives Office 365 subscribers policy recommendations and compliance controls for on-premises data.
