has brought its subscription service to the Beta Ring of the . The company launched the product last month and it has since been in testing through the Alpha Ring. Microsoft's Brad Rossetti revealed it is now moving to lower level preview branch.

This is significant because moving to the Beta Ring means Xbox Game Pass is one step closer to a full roll out. Microsoft has still not said when all users will get the feature. As usual, the company is asking Insiders to provide feedback on the service.

While the company has not put a specific date on launch, Game Pass is scheduled to drop sometime during the spring. Of course, that's still a vague timeframe, but at least we can expect it soon.

It is worth pointing out that this is a different preview to the Creators Update builds that have been dropping regularly on the Inside in recent weeks. This is a feature/service specific preview aside from the wider OS.

Xbox Game Pass

Game Pass was announced in February as a subscription-based service. It gives gamers unlimited access to over 100 games for $9.99 per month.

The titles include Xbox One games and those available from Xbox 360 Backward Compatibility. One of the most interesting aspects of Game Pass is it offers “continuous full-fidelity gameplay”. This essentially means gamers can play without having to worry about stream strength or quality. Sony's PlayStation Now cannot offer this.

Another noteworthy feature of Xbox Game Pass is it allows subscribers to download full games onto the Xbox One.

These are some big title, too, such as Halo 5: Guardian, NBA 2K16, and Mad Max. As mentioned, there are over 100 games at the moment.

Microsoft will cycle in new titles each month, while some will be removed.
