Microsoft Releases ISO Files for Windows 10 Preview Build 15048

Windows 10 Preview Build 15048 has passed through the Fast Ring and Slow Ring in recent weeks. The build is among the last previews for the soon-to-be-released Windows 10 Creators Update.

-

Last week, Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Preview Build 15048 to Windows Insiders on the Slow Ring. Now Dona Sarkar, head of the Insider Program, has announced the ISO files for the build are available to download.

As I have discussed over numerous Insider releases this month, Microsoft is winding down this preview cycle. With the Windows 10 Creators Update officially launching to all users next month, the company is ending its preview for the build

That is best evidenced by a complete drying up of new features in recent builds. Sure, a quick look at changelogs (like the one below) shows a list of new additions, but these are not features. Instead, Microsoft is fixing issues and generally readying the platform for release.

I also explained last week how Windows 10 Preview Build 15048 was different as it passed through branches on the Inside. Its Fast Ring release two weeks ago arrived with the changelog below again reflecting Microsoft’s push to the Creators Update.

However, the Slow Ring update came with more features. This is because Microsoft is playing catch-up after inconsistent Slow Ring releases in 2017.

Either way, the ISO files are for the Windows 10 Preview Build 15048 that passed the Fast Ring. As you probably already know, updating via ISO helps users who are struggling to install a build. For example, some users struggle to update certain builds for a variety of reasons.
